Frequently asked questions
What is the PMC 100?
An index of the market for Pokémon cards: it tracks the value of the 100 most expensive cards (priced at €5 or more), the way a stock index tracks a basket of shares. Base 1,000 on September 30, 2026.
How is the index calculated?
Every day, the basket’s value is compared with the previous day’s, using only cards priced on both days and linked to the same product. The changes are chained day after day from the 1,000 base: a card entering or leaving the basket doesn’t make the index jump. A card whose price more than doubles, or loses more than half, in a single day isn’t counted that day: on a rare card, it’s most often an isolated sale, not the market.
What are the generation indexes for?
To see which era is rising or falling: each one tracks the 50 most expensive cards of a generation, from the first sets to the most recent.
In the app, PokeMarketCap Pro compares your collection’s performance with these indexes. Full method (in French): PMC price and indexes.
PMC price as of October 20, 2026, calculated by PokeMarketCap from five independent market sources, cross-checked and weighted by reliability; for a card, its base is the median of the trend and of the 7- and 30-day sales averages on the European market. All languages and conditions combined: an indicative benchmark, not the price of your copy nor investment advice. Our method (in French). PokeMarketCap is independent of Nintendo, Creatures, GAME FREAK and The Pokémon Company.
